CCiS 2023 Endurance: "4 Hours of Charlotte" - FR500S - P3

Teamed up with Nick Love to take a shot at the second ChampCar iRacing Endurance race of the season. We both got some practice in and after our registration errors last time, we were ready to sweat for 4 hours. Nick put it some great qualifying laps that put us on the second row out of 9 cars, in 3rd for the rolling start.

Nick had a pretty good start, doing some battling and keeping up with the lead pack. There was some bumping and racing, and unfortunately he ran into some VR issues and we had to go to the pits after disconnecting and getting a tow. I took the wheel after a fuel top-off and ran for the next couple hours. Unfortunately, after making a pass at the snake, a competitor shot up the inside during the switchback and spun me. This resulted in a big loss and the rest of the race would be to finish and make up as many spots as we could. With all the churn from Yellow Flags and pit strategies, Nick brought the car home in 3rd. We had a good sweaty time and showed great pace throughout. If we get more consistent and cleaner, we can have a way better chance at the win.

Qualifying & Race Results:

Driving Analysis & Areas of Opportunity

Focus: n/a

Ramp Up: Could be better.

Raw Pace/Line: Good pace.

Braking: Used different settings this time and used more travel. It was harder but I might like it better for trail braking.

Throttle: n/a

Passing: I crashed while trying to overtake...again. That's 2 races in a row, I guess. He shot it up the inside after the move was done, so next time I could consider being more patient or giving more room.
